About The Beehive

The Beehive on Sedgeletch Road in Sunniside, near Houghton-le-Spring, has long been a popular fixture of the local drinking and dining scene. The pub still has the old Vaux Brewery signage inside, along with lots of original features and is open daily from 11.30am with food served Wednesday to Sunday right through from 12 noon onwards. You can eat in the restaurant or bar area as well in the beer garden when the weather permits. Expect a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and delicious home-cooked food. Plus live music every Saturday from 9pm.

Twice in a week eating here. Lamb shank was cooked to perfection Lasagne was delicious. Staff were brilliant.

First time eating at the beehive and won't be the last. Service was excellent, staff were all really friendly, we were sat straight away, drinks and food orders were served in an good time. I've wanted to try their parmo's for a while now and decided to go for the Peppas parmo. This was better than I could have imagined, really tasty and excellent portion. My partner had a del boy burger which was also really good. For desert my partner had a cheesecake and she said this was very good, I had the large monster marshmallow sundae which I thought was a bit of a let down, it was tasty but didn't feel that it was worth the £8 ish price tag and wouldn't order that again but would try something else. Due to the sundae this is why I haven't scored a 5 for food and value for money, everything else was excellent.

A massive thank you to the staff. I called in advance to say my son had recently had surgery which meant he needed a little extra leg room. The lady I spoke to was amazing and on the night they were very accommodating. Food was fantastic. Service was quick and very attentive. Very worth while thank you we will be back

Went for a friend's birthday on 21st February. There was 5 of us. We all had a drink before Meals. When the Meals came out we were just shocked at how much your got Quantity wise. The Meals were absolutely Gorgeous. We will definitely be back soon
