About The Beehive

The Beehive on Sedgeletch Road in Sunniside, near Houghton-le-Spring, has long been a popular fixture of the local drinking and dining scene. The pub still has the old Vaux Brewery signage inside, along with lots of original features and is open daily from 11.30am with food served Wednesday to Sunday right through from 12 noon onwards. You can eat in the restaurant or bar area as well in the beer garden when the weather permits. Expect a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and delicious home-cooked food. Plus live music every Saturday from 9pm.

Me and my partner visited again last night and wasn’t disappointed, I had the steak and mushroom pasta n was beautiful really hope they add to main menu, and partner had the New York burger just lovely, staff always amazing I haven’t had bad food or bad service here and would 100% recommend eating here

Always wanted to visit after seeing the photos on Facebook of the meals. Meals are as photos show. Amazing food, fantastic staff, the lasses that waited on us were super friendly and helpful. I found it value for money and will 100% be back again.

Had another visit to this wonderful place. I took my two teenage kids with me this time. Has usual I have my goto food, 'Belly pork bites' , these should win a reward. Tried other places, not nearly has good. Wonderful staff, always asking uf we are ok and friendly as always. Looking forward to my next visit

Very friendly and helpful staff, my Mam is currently using walking sticks after a fall and they helped us to our seat and to the exit. Food was beautiful biggest piece of corned beef pie Ive ever had and the chips and gravy so tasty. We will be back x
