What a shame that this once great restaurant is now probably the worst . Frozen waterlogged veg, poor quality meat, burnt spuds and over cooked pasta. Finished off by complacent and insincere apology from manager. 20 years custom ended this week.

Went to Bella Emilio's 20/8/11 place was grubby cutlery not clean toilets dirty no soap to wash your hands and the food wasn't great very disappointing you could tell it wasn't fresh at all i would never go back its a shame as it used to be the best Italian in town,

Not a positive recommendation this one unfortunately. After taking my girlfriend to the pictures to see the new movie 'Inception' we trekked into town in search of somewhere decent to eat as we were both starving hungry. We happened to end up on Friargate so I suggested trying this small Italian restaurant. There was an uncomfortable waiting period by the doorway in the draft and I began to expect that this might turn out to be a not-so-great experience. Non of the staff were Italian and I’m not sure if the chefs are either which makes you think. We were seated and orders taken, they had run out of Pinot Grigio which must be embarrassing for an Italian restaurant, we had Chardonnay instead. I had the chicken livers to start which were all burnt on one side like they had been forgotten about in the pan, I still ate them because I was hungry but crispy chicken livers aren’t great! They should really have thrown them away and started again, livers don’t cost much. For my main I had seafood risotto in tomato sauce which just wasn’t very good, it contained mussels, squid (rubbery) and the smallest prawns I have ever seen! The rice was overcooked and the flavour just wasn’t up to standard, sorry. My girlfriend had carbonara which didn’t look right and she didn’t enjoy it at all, it looked like spaghetti in cream, I don’t think the eggs were added correctly. This is such a shame because the waitress (pretty sure she is the floor manager) was very nice and capable. This restaurant could be a lot better, the food really let the place down. They deducted the price of the carbonara off the bill without us asking because the lady could see how much my girlfriend wasn’t enjoying it. It was a shame because the place seems nice and the staff are ok, it’s like an ugly child, you just feel sorry for it. 5/10.

We ordered a takeaway to celebrate my partners birthday (we cant go out as we have a sick child) and it arrived late, with no desserts ( hadn't told us) and totally forgot to send the main meal mousakka. It was delivered to 63 st clares ave. We were expecting them to be busy as a city centre restaurant so forgave the late delivery but the lack of communication and failure to deliver one meal left us very disappointed. I am felt so sorry for the family as it wasnt a cheap takeaway and should have been a treat!

The Best Little Italian in Preston. You will go a long way to beat their homemade Lasagne and special fish dishes.
