Whilst visiting Heysham today, my son, husband and I decided to rest at this establishment. Being a fan of a classical afternoon tea, I chose a pot of tea for one, together with a scone, jam and cream. My husband and son chose only a glass of water and coke respectively. The first disappointment came when our order arrived. A tray was dumped at the end of our table in a most unceremonious manner.Secondly, having served ourselves from the tray, I noticed that the cream for the scone was of the 'squirty can' variety. Furthermore, the jam was of the cheap individual serving variety in a plastic tub. The scone, whist appearing promisingly home-made, was more like cake inside. It was undercooked and I could taste the flour. Nevertheless, I gave it a go, however, I was forced to do something I have never been known to do. I left half of the scone. My husband tasted it and agreed. In addition to this, the coke served to my son was flat. On the brighter side, the water and the tea were fine.
the loud one
Very pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed the quiet surrounding lovely tea and scones.
