About Belluno Italian Axminster

Belluno is a family-run Italian restaurant, bar and grill in the south Devon market town of Axminster. The family traces its roots back to Naples and you can expect a traditional Italian menu here at both lunch and dinner every day except Tuesdays. At lunchtimes, there’s a good-value special deal and the a la carte showcases flame-grilled steaks as well as a good pizza and pasta selection. And don’t miss the Happy Hour Cocktails every day. The main dining area is spacious and atmospheric with high ceilings, feature pillars and large windows which let the light flood in. Belluno also hosts occasional live music nights.

To celebrate our son's 15th birthday and because we were on holiday, we decided to come to this Italian restaurant. We received a good service from the young waitresses and we'd like to thank them for bringing the dessert to my son with a candle and singing happy birthday to him. That was a nice suprise we really appreciated it. My wife was the unlucky one, her Calzone was not cooked thoroughly, the bottom and the ends were raw dough and the filling was not hot. She hasn't complained only asked the waitress to let the chef know. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with various objects and panitings that were also for sale.

Booked table for Saturday evening. Restaurant very busy and hot, can't help the weather I know, but it was pretty uncomfortable. Drinks order taken swiftly by waitress who returned around 10 minutes later with drinks and took our starter and mains order. Starters arrived about 20 minutes later and they were very nice, took a little time for plates to be cleared after we had finished, though. Our 4 mains arrived about 30 minutes later with a side order of broccoli missing, waitress advised it was on its way. We all waited around 5 minutes for it to arrive, when it didn't we started eating anticipating it's arrival. Halfway through the meal, still missing the side order, raised this with the waitress, clearly the order hadn't been 'on it's way' as previously advised. Broccoli arrived and waitress apologised and advised it was on the house, she asked if we'd like more drinks, husband ordered a pint of cider, which took a further 20 minutes to arrive. We were contemplating a dessert but gave up as too hot and too busy to wait. This was our first visit to Belluno Italian, we will visit again, maybe not on a hot, busy Saturday evening, to see if we were just unlucky this particular time. Food and atmosphere were very good, waitresses looked rushed off of their feet, good to see a local business doing well, shame it impacted our evening a little.

Booked for a Saturday evening. Reasturant was very busy. The food was good with decent portions, and came out very hot. The waitress was very good and attentive. If we return to Axminster, I would definitely go again.

food was fab service also was great I can not find anything I didn’t like lovely place would come back & she’ll tell my family too excellent food had toddler with us his food to was lovely we even had takeaway for him

Lovely restaurant with character and atmosphere. It was busy, even on a Tuesday evening, but the service was excellent - matched by the food. Really delicious. Needless to say, we shall return with family and friends.

Great dining experience, very authentic Italian , the best one we’ve been to by far , the food is just perfect and very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and provide great customer service. Highly recommended if you enjoy Italian dining. 5*****

Really good quality food. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was ok, maybe classical music would have been better, but depends on the listener. We didn't sit further in, so maybe the second half of the restaurant had even more charm, Ill see next time I eat there. Portions were on the smaller size for the price. Deserts were amazing.
