Bhaji Pala in Gatley opened in November 2019 and is Manchester’s first fully vegan Indian restaurant. Literally ‘green vegetables and herbs’ in the original Marathi, Bhaji Pala is at the core of western Indian vegetarian cooking which over 5,000 years has built up a complex array of tastes, textures and flavours. Coconut, rice and offerings from the coast dominate the Goan and Marathi cuisines, while lentils, millets, gram flour and dairy dominate in Gujarati and Rajasthani kitchens. The award-winning team at Bhaji Pala has adapted authentic regional recipes to create all-vegan dishes for Manchester diners. The restaurant is open from 10am daily, serving breakfast, right through until late.
