Romanos is the best restaurant you will ever visit.

We were stuck in the Barnsley area on a Friday night with no idea where to go for food. Reviews suggested Romanos would be a good place so we went along - food was excellent, staff friendly, prices reasonable for the quality - BUT it is VERY noisy. there were 3 large birthday parties (which seem to be a regular thing because they treat birthdays so well), and also a VERY VERY LOUD Italian sing-a-long. I've been to many noisy gigs before but this was just painful to the eardrums. We nearly walked out.

We had a fantastic meal in Romanos! the steak was out of this world!! the only criticisms are that the beer could be colder - and the starters aren't cheap! We are definitely going again soon. Yum yum Yum. Great atmosphere too :)

I have been to Bistro Romanos on a number of occasions, and have always found the service excellent, the food prepared and cooked in an exquisite manner and the atmosphere perfect. Even though I no longer live in Barnsley, I always make a point of booking a table whenever I am in town.

Maybe it was due to the fact that there were 23 of us but I visited Romanos last night and found it appalling! I ordered Minestrone soup for starters which tasted like a pot of pepper had been dropped in it and didn’t come with any sort of bread which to me is something of a requisite when it comes to soup. For my main course i ordered steak with garlic butter I ordered it medium but when it came it was rare i would even go as far as saying it was blue it was that bloody. Like i said previously there were 23 of us but they had been told in advance we were coming and we had all told them what we wanted to eat. I really was speechless as to the quality of this restaurant. I was highly disappointed as were my colleagues. Needless to say I wont be going to this place again it is highly overpriced and the quality of food is atrocious. We weren’t only the ones who didn’t enjoy we did over hear a couple also complaining about the food. Stay well clear is my advice unless you have money to throw away!

Bistro Romano’s is by far the best Italian restaurant in Barnsley , as now a regular customer i have never been disappointed the food is made by a genuinely passionate food chef and is of the best quality , the service as always friendly efficient and second to none. Romanos doesn’t advertise, it does not need to ,its food does that by word of mouth .

Romano's offer the best quality Italian food and the staff are extremely friendly. When dining in the restaurant you really could be anywhere as it has a great Mediterranean feel to it. I now visit Romano's regularly as I feel it is by far the most superior restaurant in Barnsley in every way.
