I met three retired workmates there last Monday ,we all ordered different meals ,one being vegetarian. We thought each meal was really enjoyable and we arranged to go again for our next meeting in Feb . I am meeting my son and his partner there tomorrow for a meal so I will see if it is as good as last time.

Too many unsupervised kids, spoilt the meal.

Me and my fiancé have been here a number of times and never had a problem, food has always been nice. The last time we went we got a mixed grill... we were left disappointed, the meat was over cooked very hard and hard to swallow. We visited again tonight and left disappointed once again!!!!!. We got a burger and chips, we tried to eat the burger and it was inedible. I basically got the meat stuck in my throat, it's like it's been there a while and its been reheated. First time ever in my life I complained and the staff were happy and very pleasant to take the food away and recook us another one. We were left in disappointment once again. it was more edible than the first but still not nice at all. We tried to eat as much as we could, about to leave someone who looked like the manger came up to the table and asked why we left our half of burger, I then replied it was hard and he said '' it was HARD'' in a confused way, questioning it as if we was wrong. Yes the meat was hard I wouldn't feed it to a dog!!!!.. We will never be going here as we have been disappointed twice now and the attitude was disgusting!! Possibly need a new chef and maybe go back to a management course !!! :) AND I WILL BE TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE !!

I have been to the Blue Anchor pub for many special occasions over the years and have found it to be a lovely pub. Food good but when me and my family went for my 12 year old birthday meal I ordered a Vegatarian curry and was served a meat curry. When I told staff they said the chef must of got them mixed up as the two bags looked the same and they would give me the veg curry. A few mins later the waitress presented me with a bowl of veg curry, bearing in mind I had no plate in front of me as I returned my plate. So I asked for a refund. I was not happy and my family want be going back again .

The Blue Anchor has the best food I have ever eaten in a pub. I popped in for a meal one day and have now eaten nearly everything on the menu and not been disappointed. The regular menu is better than some restaurants and the specials are nothing you would expect in a pub. I regularly eat out and I now go to the Blue Anchor at least 1 time a week. The portions are absolutely huge, the service is great (they dont disturb you while you are eating) the price is cheap and the garden in the back is one of the biggest I have ever seen. I would eat here before a lot of restaurants. PS I dont live in liverpool but I would happily eat every meal in this pub. VERY recommended
