What a change. New owner, new look, but keeping the name. Nice friendly people all the best for the new look Blue Moon.

Always like to pop in for a coffee and a snack by the river at the Blue Moon, it is superbly located. I was pleasantly surprised to find Fish Stew on the menu this weekend, so stopped for a little late lunch instead. It was delicious, packed with fishy bits, and superbly tasty. Just like I expected a good mediterranean fish stew to taste like. I like it so much, I asked for the recipe :-). The farmhouse bake was equally delicious. Will definitely be back again.

Found Bistro Blu by chance after having lunch by the river at Blue Moon. Food was something of a revelation, how can this rather out of the way place get it so very right. The place was packed, no recession on here, but with the food on offer who could resist such offerings. My partner started with a Soft shell crab, never eaten this before but now a convert, I had mussels in cider again yummy. For mains I had Kleftico and as I am a Greek lover at heart it was superb cooked as it should be in a foils bag at the table, Partner had burger, but it was a rather large and very well cooked wild boar burger sitting on a shelf of smoked bacon and grilled cheese, served with huge chips.

Went down the river earlier today. The Blue Moon had tables outside by the river – in November! It was warm enough to sit out and we had lunch. The ‘boss’ had pork casserole and said it was lovely – I went for ‘freshly battered’ Fish n Chips with mushy peas and it was as advertised ‘the best in town’. Not expensive either even with a bottle of wine.Haven’t been here a while but we’ll be back. Well worth the walk and what a view.

Once again have just got back from Chester and on Saturday night we had a meal and yet again was fantastic will definitely be going again next year

By day it's a cafe and by night a restaurant. However, the menu is so diverse and interesting whenever you go. My wife and myself have visited many times both in the day and at night and never cease to wonder 'How do they do it'? The choice and the quality of the food is excellent, the staff are very attentive but not 'in your face' all the time. The decor is great, especially if you are a child of the 60s, you can re-live your youth just looking at the wall posters. We were at the 'Blue Moon' with friends last night and will be there on many more occasions in the foreseeable future, we cannot recommend the place highly enough. Give it a go.

Had my 50th birthday meal here last night, and none of us had ever been before; there were 20 of us and owners Philip and David now have 20 new devotees. The warmth and hospitality of all the staff were second to none, and the food was superb. Fantastic menu ... really I cannot praise them enough. Just go:-)

What a find, three of us ate there Sat. night 11th Dec'10, wonderful, tasty, imaginative. A lovely relaxing atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff, we'll certainly go back and will recommend Bistro Blu to all our friends.

Was there on Nov 27th for my husbands 50th birthday, we came across the place by chance and how lucky were we, what a wonderful atmosphere, the food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble would definitely go there again and would recommend it to anyone

.....I visited this Cafe! for the second time the other day,to call this a Cafe is so wrong, true they have a huge diner style menu but the daily specials are so interesting; removed from the usual pan fried sea bass stuff, I had a Moroccan Harria dish, must be the best food I have eaten in years. My wife Clam Chowder she said - 'more please'. Just wanted to say Thanks to the staff who must rate as the most friendly in Chester. See you guys again soon.Pete/Kelly Knowles
