I always choose the Boathouse for girl's nights out and also for Sunday Lunch with my husband. The food is consistently good and gives good value for money. Summertime is particularly good to sit outside by the lake for a pre-dinner drink.

Took the Wife for our Wedding Anniversary based on what I had read on this website. It was one of the smartest moves I have ever made!! The meals were probably the best we had eaten in 10 years. The Scotch Fillet I had at £20 quid was the most tender I have ever eaten - cooked medium rare perfectly. There were 5 or 6 Veg and the potatoes and fries were spot on. Starters were just as good, as were the sweets. The atmosphere is just right - not too quiet you can hear a pin drop, but not that noisy you can't hear yourself think. The service was very quick considering the food quality and the waiting staff were efficient and it was nice to see people bringing food to your table smiling. The cost for two of us including a good bottle of red was almost bang on a hundred quid. This isn't cheap but I have paid more for food that can't compete with this. They also do a three course meal from a set menu for less than £20 per person, and we shall be going back to try this as soon as we can get baby sitters. And yes, the views are really nice - even in the pouring rain. If you are after somewhere that little bit special for a Birthday or Anniversary then give it a try. You can have a nice stroll around Sutton Park after to walk off the food, or sit outside and enjoy a drink by the Pool.

We had our wedding at The Boathouse in May2005. It was FAB. The location is beautiful, the staff were fantastic... The food is 2nd to none. We would recommend The Boathouse to anyone, whatever the occasion.

Fabulous location overlooking the lake in the park - especially beautiful sunsets! Food & service are both excellent & based on the quality of both, the cost is modest. Having eaten at several top London restaurants, I have to say this place outstrips them all.
