I have lunch at Bradley's almost every week. My Mum and I have tried lots of other places in Bradford and the surrounding areas, but Bradleys is head and shoulders above anywhere else we've tried. The food is always excellent, with a good choice, perfect portion sizes, lovely crisp vegetables included in the price, and great service. We have never had a meal that wasn't superb. The lunchtime special price menu is fantastic value, far too cheap really. I can't understand why the place is not always full to overflowing.

Fantastic place, such a warm and friendly restaurant! The staff always make you feel welcome and the food well we have never be disappointed! Excellent value for money!

I'm fed up with going to restaurants and finding the food 'okay', so it is a pleasure to say I came away from lunch at Bradley's in Heaton yesterday singing its phrases. Tasty starters, appetizing main courses and scrumptious sweets. The house wine was of good quality (usually the sign of a good restaurant) and the service was attentive, and pleasant. All this and so reasonable - the three course lunchtime special plus three bottles of wine (there were six of us!) including a well deserved tip - came to just under fourteen pounds per head. I've had, and enjoyed less, dearer take-aways. What else can I say? Go there!

Not impressed... Food portions were small, came home still hungry! Hardly any veg with the meals - a total of 8 small new potatoes between 5 of us and an average of 4 slices of carrot each!! Thankfully we'd paid for some extra portions of chips but even still the plates were practically empty. The steak was lovely, but just not enough. Early bird menu is a nice idea but then when there's all the supplements on top to get a decent meal it doesn't end up such good value at all. Puddings were a bit pathetic too - the strawberry sponge offering was smaller than the spoon they gave you to eat it with. I won't be recommending Bradley's to anybody.

Four of us went to Bradleys, Heaton on 8th November 2008. It was excellent. We had the early bird menu which was available every day, all day that month. Around £88 for the 4 of us, including 2 drinks at the bar beforehand, 2 bottles of wine and 3 courses each (2 puddings to share between the 4 - too full). Wonderful food and excellent service with very helpful, very pleasant staff. Would highly recommend.

Oh dear. Where do I start? The atmosphere is pleasant enough, and the service good if a little too quick. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be anyone who could help me with a recommendation from the wine list although the waiter was happy for us to try a drop from the open bottles that he had. We both started with the mushroom risotto. There is a line between al dente rice and undercooked rice, and this was on the wrong side of it. The dish was swimming in butter, which forewarned us for the main course - the chef needs to realise that adding more butter doesn't necessarily improve a dish, especially if there is too much already. We had come as the result of on-line recommendations, particularly those which praised the owner's special talent with fish. I suppose it does take talent to produce swordfish which is bland and rubbery yet almost tasteless. My monkfish medallions were superb, but the accompanying "crevettes" might as well have come from a bag of frozen prawns from the local supermarket, and while I appreciate that scallops come in all sizes I didn't realise that they could be smaller than a fingernail yet devoid of flavour - except, of course, for the butter in which they floated. We both opted for green salad. It was green. The dressing was very tasty. It was nicely dressed green leaves. Its strongest point was that, unlike everything else, it had managed to avoid the butter. To finish I had the crème brulee and we shared a "selection of five cheeses". Now, unlike the owner, I haven't been trained by a Michelin start chef and I am sure that he knows better than I, but I thought that there should be enough vanilla in a crème brulee to be able to taste it and I am positive that you shouldn't be able to drink it through a straw. The cheese board was amazingly bland. Even the stilton, whilst of a superb texture, was almost tasteless. Overall a complete disappointment. For slightly less money you can have vastly better fare at Main Street in Burley, the Farsyde in Ilkely or the Stroom in Pudsey.

After a disastrous visit last August to what was then still Clarkes and is now Bradleys, we resolved never to set foot in the place again .... but word reached us that all had changed, and so it has. My wife and I enjoyed a superb meal there tonight. For starters, I had a roast salmon fishcake with chive creme fraiche ... simple but beautiful ... followed by a main course of the most perfectly cooked calve's liver with onions and rosti that I have ever experienced. Pink, melting-in-the-mouth liver, crisp rosti, soft almost-caramalised onions. And to finish? A tuille biscuit with red berries and chantilly cream ... to die for! I could rave on going through my wife's very different but equally-pleasing fish courses, but sufficient to say 10 out of 10. And the wine list is great ... we had a beautiful Fleurie. And, oh yes, the coffee macchiato - as good as we get it in Italy. Go and try it for yourself; I don't think you'll be disappointed. Our only minus in the whole evening ... an over-noisy table of four right next to us.

We had a wonderful meal here 4th April 2008. the soup was very tasty and served in a nice deep bowl Tomato and coconut. Main course was very good, just the right portion size fresh vegetables were lovely and my venison was cooked to perfection as requested. desserts and coffee all very good. We really enjoyed our evening here great buzz in the place, polite staff. We will be going back.
