Caprese Don Costanzo has deep roots in Glasgow’s Italian dining scene. Costanzo Cacace originally established The Caprese on Buchanan Street, where the family ran the restaurant for more than 25 years before redevelopment prompted a move to Woodside Crescent, close to Charing Cross. The restaurant continues the same family-run, distinctly old-school Italian approach, with a relaxed dining room and a menu built around familiar classics. The current à la carte ranges from pasta and risotto to tiger prawns, chicken dishes and a substantial selection of steaks, including Diane, pizzaiola and Rossini. Homemade tiramisu provides a suitably traditional finish. There’s also a notably serious Italian wine selection including Tignanello and Sassicaia. It all adds up to a very personal, traditional Glasgow Italian with decades of family history behind it.
