Cedar Manor dates back to 1854 when it was built as a Lakeland country house retreat for a wealthy industrialist. On the outskirts of Windermere and just half a mile from the lake shore, it sits in its own mature walled gardens alongside the 200-year-old Indian cedar tree that gives the property its name. The Hotel has a contemporary twist with modern bathrooms, Wifi and all you would expect in a modern hotel, but within the traditional environment of a Gothic Victorian building. The public areas have 2 lounges, one traditional, one more modern, a classic dining room where you can enjoy a refined Afternoon Tea and a lovely patio for the warmer days and evenings and 10 individually designed ensuite rooms, including two suites. Afternoon Tea is served Thursday to Monday from 1.30pm to 4pm inclusive.
