Absolutely love Chaplins. The best restaurant in Barry. Whether your lunching with friends or dining with family it's the only place to be :-)

Dined at peak time on Saturday night, with 5 friends. First off, its hard to decide what to eat, it all sounds so good. Second, the menu lives up to the promise. Top quality ingredients, beautifully cooked, served efficiently with big smiles.
The portions are vast - Those who had been to Chaplins before shared a starter, the rest of us were not so sensible. Mms and ymmmmmms all round.
Main course - I have never seen lamb chops so vast, tasty or tender, the fillet steaks were chunky and melting. Side dishes were great - but hardly touched as there was so much food on the plates anyway.
Following a decent rest truly scrumptious deserts were shared - creamy fluffy tiramisu got 10/10 and the creme brulee 11/10.
Great value, good service, but best of all, truly lovely food.
GO!

Went Friday night for a bite to eat ... spur of the moment decision after running the children around for the evening ... didn't get turned away and made to feel extremely welcome (irrespective that we didn't get there until 9.30). the staff were very friendly and eager to make you welcome. The service was first class as was the food AND wine. Only complaint was that the course was that big that we did not get chance to sample any of the dessert menu that looked 'to die for'. Absolutely brilliant evening and would highly recommend this restaurant to any one looking for either a quiet intimate evening or a get together with friends or family. A*****

Chaplins is an idyllic place to go for a really good quality steak, the atmosphere is great and the decor is true to the name chaplins, with tiffany lighting, pictures of laurel and hardy marilyn monroe, I would definitely recommend this restaurant/steakhouse to anyone into their steaks.
