About Chester House Hotel

The Chester House Hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, the ‘Little Venice’ of the Cotswolds. Privately owned, the Victorian boutique hotel with its pitched roofs has 22 ensuite rooms decorated in contemporary country style, a breakfast garden room, a bar and lounge  and L’Anatra Italian Kitchen which is open for lunch and dinner every day. It’s the ideal place for delicious stone-baked pizzas, pasta, steak or fish. Everything is prepared from quality fresh ingredients and seasonal specials are available throughout the year. Chester House Hotel also has dog-friendly tables and rooms available.

I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, and honestly, it was terrible. The entire dish was SWIMMING in butter and oil – that was basically all you could taste. And if that wasn’t bad enough, my stomach definitely paid the price afterwards. So if you’re looking for a good bowel cleanse, this might be the place for you. Would NOT recommend.

Been a few times and been ok but a few mushrooms chopped in a ramekin with garlic butter could do better and if the steak chips and a bit of salad was worth £33 I don’t know perhaps a few pees and mushrooms would have been a good idea

Highly recommended! Lovely restaurant, clean, modern with fantastic staff who run the place like clockwork. Good menu, best Calazone ever and gluten free options for pasta and pizzas.

My husband and I came Saturday evening with our dog, which was great and we had a lovely big table by the window, the restaurant itself was very nice. We were disappointed with the food though. My husband had escalopes to start and he had 2 very small ones and was overpriced for what they were. I had king prawns which were quite tough. Our mains, muscles for me which were tasty but not hot, my husband had a pizza which was very wet and sloppy. Our server was lovely but we have had better meals for the same value, we left feeling disappointed and we paid £100 for it. Not good value for money
