If you’re looking for a Kent pub that’s full of character, the Chestfield Barn near Whitstable will fit the bill. Dating back to the 14th century, it originated as part of Chestfield Manor and the Grade II-listed thatched barn has been a pub since 1988. It’s a big structure with dining spread over ground and mezzanine levels as well as outside during the warmer months. Everything is freshly cooked and food is served at lunch and dinner seven days a week. All dishes can be adapted for gluten-free and there are also special Kids menus and Sunday menus. Chestfield Barn is a great choice for functions of all kinds too – including weddings – and also hosts regular live music events. The mezzanine level can comfortably seat up to 60 guests.
