Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery has relocated to The Royal Oak at Catshill, Bromsgrove marking the next chapter for the UK’s first Caribbean Carvery. The new venue opened its doors in this Punch bub in October 2025, offering its trademark fusion of a traditional British carvery and vibrant Island-inspired Caribbean flavours. The carvery is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday right through from lunchtime onwards.

Went to the pub for lunch on Friday and whilst there were a few menu items unavailable we enjoyed our choices. I had superb jerk chicken and my friends enjoyed their brown chicken stew and oxtail. We live a fair distance away, otherwise I would go again this week. Well done to the friendly and polite staff.

Once we first arrived the queue at the bar was confusing, no one came to explain we need to wait in the queue to order food and then be seated after. We had to go ask a member of staff at the far end of the bar doing nothing to explain the situation, it was extremely busy with people pushing past to sit down to then try to push in at the bar to be told to go to the back of the queue! We both said the confusion at the bar made us regret going and we thought about leaving but we did stay and we are glad we did the food was totally worth it and delicious, at least when we go back we will understand the process when you enter!

We went for our wedding anniversary after reading good reviews. Before we were seated the menu was explained to us and we were told what wasn’t available. Ordered our food we 1 carvery & brown stew chicken stew was very tasty. Some of the meat on the carvery was a bit dry. The food was not very warm informed them at the time. This certainly would not put us off going again as overall we enjoyed the food, good sized portions & tasty.

I celebrated my birthday at Christopher’s with my family, and the experience genuinely felt like a warm embrace. The food was spot-on — tasty, hot, and served without a long wait. Every plate carried that true Caribbean comfort: rich flavour, proper seasoning, and a homely feel that made the whole meal sing. The atmosphere was just as good. The space felt cosy, welcoming, and warm — the kind of place where you settle in and instantly feel at home. The staff were lovely throughout; the waitresses were friendly, the servers were accommodating, and nothing ever felt like too much to ask. A standout moment was when the owner, Reiss, personally came out to check that everything was perfect. That touch of care set the tone — attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to making sure we were content. Overall, it was a beautiful experience from start to finish. I’d happily recommend Christopher’s to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a place that feels like family.

Positive Tasty food, friendly barmaid Negative Food warm 4 out of 9 had their dinner served but the other 5 didn’t get theirs until the first 4 had finished. No communication offered for the delay. Ordered a pudding which took about an hour to arrive. Recommendations Get more bar staff, more waiters, more chefs and a bigger cooker.

Our first visit to the Royal Oak was to celebrate a birthday. We'd heard great reviews about the food. It didn't disappoint. The staff were welcoming as soon as we arrived. We had to wait a few minutes for our table because the previous occupants hadn't vacated yet. The staff explained and kept us updated. There was a knock-on wait to get our meal, which didn't disappoint. The food was hot and delicious. The staff serving the food were accommodating when we asked for a specific part of the chicken and lamb. We also had puddings which came quickly, had plenty of custard and was hot. Overall was a great experience and we will be going back.

Had the pleasure of visiting Christopher's today with my sons. We had a long drive from Birmingham but it was worth it. The food was delicious and our plates were so full. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back.
