Sophisticated Lytham Chinese restaurant with a suntrap walled garden patio at the rear. All your Cantonese favourites plus seafood specialities and takeaway.

About Chus

Chu’s Oriental Cuisine in Lytham has expanded into next door since it was first established back in 2006. The contemporary restaurant features elegant and sophisticated black and white décor, atmospheric lighting and modern furnishings. There is also a sun trap patio garden at the rear perfect for balmier evenings, a unique spot for al fresco in the centre of Lytham. The chef hails from Hong Kong and worked in some of the top restaurants there for over 20 years. The menus feature Dim Sum, Satay skewers, mixed platters and soups to start, a separate vegetarian selection and a broad choice of rice and noodle dishes. Mains offer all your favourites plus some Cantonese specials such as sizzling plates. Try the seafood here which is a speciality; steamed fillets of sea bass, monkfish with black bean sauce or scallops in Champagne sauce. They also offer a takeaway service.

11 of us enjoyed a lovely meal at Chu's in Lytham on Saturday. all the diners were happy with their food and the service was good too. The restaurant looks great too, very modern and unlike many other Chinese restaurants.

Chu’s in Lytham is for me the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Not really in terms of the food (I’m no expert) but just that the décor and ambience is so good. They obviously had an experienced interior designer put this place together – or someone with very good taste! Staff are very friendly and professional too.

This is our favourite place to eat out. The surroundings & atmosphere is just divine. The food is yummy, the set menu buffet is great value for money. The duck pancakes are the best. I would recommend this place to anyone. Their Whitegate drive venue is just as lovely (apart from a staff member no matter how many times you visit can not push a smile) However we don't let him put us off, the duck is just too good.

Having visited Chus twice within the last month I can honestly say this is the nicest food I have tasted in a long time. Everything was piping hot and very fresh. The staff are very attentive, but could do with a little training. I asked for a certain drink and the waitress had no idea what I was talking about. They tried to give us two bottles of wine. Food excellent, service a little questionable

Visited Chu's last night. Fantastic food but the experience was really soured by the oppressive waiting staff. at least every 2 minutes someone was hovering round the table and we felt that we were being rushed into finishing our food. It was not exactly busy and had plenty of empty tables so it was not that they needed a fast turnaround time. When mentioned to the manager on paying the bill he just shrugged his shoulders and was not interested. There are too many places doing great food locally so the customer experience is very important and as such we won't return.

We had a meal there on Friday, what a beautiful restaurant, good value for money and good service. The food was tasteless, I and two of my party agreed.I last went two years ago with the same problem,I thought it would have improved by now.

Simply excellent, had the £18 banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it, excellent service. Not your normal restaurant, everything is quality. Can't wait to go again
Me-love-food
Having lived in Manchester, i have experienced the city's china town, where Chinese food thrives in abundance. There are many 'all you can eat buffets' for around £7, and that means literally, all you can eat, it really is fantastic, particularly after a few beers, in fact it is just over indulgence, plain and simple! For £7, it is by no means haute-cuisine; you get what you pay for, factory style produced food for the masses, cheap cuts of meat are used and everything tastes more or less the same, nut thats to be expected for a pittence i feel! There are however also restaurants in china town where you can have a 'proper' meal, you pay more but some of the food is so fresh and delicious (Pan-Asia i always find is definitely worth going to if you're in Manchester.) Perhaps then, i have been spoilt, as returning to Lytham, my experience at Chu's was shocking enough to drive me to broadcast it to the world here; to get straight to the point, food was not hot enough, whats the point in having beautiful authentic dishes if your filling them with sub-standard, warm food; it felt like drinking cheap warm lager from an elegant champagne flute .The sauces were incredibly dull, i would place good money on the fact that the sweet and sour sauce was out of a carton; fine if youre running a take away, but a so called oriental 'cuisine' establishment, shame on you; youre laziness will come back on you no doubt. I have often read reviews written by people and thought, 'shut up and stop moaning', now i am one of them, what a hypocrite, however, i feel we the customers pay good money and should therefore get a good experience, of this i feel strongly. Finally, the pieces of chicken were SO SO SALTY...what were the chefs doing to that chicken?put it in your mouth, gooey bland sauce, hard (not crunchy) chewy batter, and oh, salt salt salt, i felt down right embarrassed and didnt bother commenting when the waiter (who was wearing a headset by the way and consequently looked like he would be more suited conducting a fitness video for people about to have heart attacks having had to much of Chu's chicken) un-enthusiastically asked if everything was ok, oh yeah its great thanks.....this salty after taste was going to set me back forty five quid for me and my partner, needless to say the food got left. Im sorry Chu's but sort your food out and stop mis-leading the customer about authenticity, it wasn't authentic, it was just pointless durge. Will it survive? Thanks to the pimms drinkers of Lytham who will go to a place because of how it looks as opposed to how it tastes, sadly, probably, yes. Still, at least the portion sizes were scarce.

Chu's is just what Lytham has needed. Authentic Chinese fayre instead of the normal 'Take Away' type. Lovely people too. Well done.
