About Colombo Street

Colombo Street has been a fixture of outdoor events around the Midlands since 2018 and you may well have seen their distinctive street food truck. In 2020 and 2021 they were finalists at the British Street Food Awards and now you can enjoy the Sri Lankan street food experience at their restaurant in Nottingham city centre. Choose between Lankan street tapas with an assortment of short-eats, signatures kottus and exciting street food dishes served tapas-style and a carefully curated selection of classic, homecooked traditional dishes including authentic coconut-based curries. The food is complemented by a range of draught, craft and bottled beers – including Sri Lankan craft beers – as well as a carefully chosen wine list. Colombo Street is open every day from 12 noon onwards and their outside catering arm can be booked for weddings, birthdays, private and corporate events, however big or small.

This was our first visit and definitely will not be our last. The idea of Sri Lankan cuisine attracted us as we love exploring different foods and flavours from around the world. We had a warm welcome on our arrival both from the manager and Izza, our server. The menu was clearly explained. We took time to choose as the choices were numerous. We certainly made good selections. Quality, flavour, and portions were outstanding. We so look forward to returning.

This was my second visit to Columbo Street and this time was the best yet! Food was fabulous - fresh, vibrant flavours and a lovely selection of dishes on the set menus. Also a very nice place to sit and eat in. We were a party of 7 and the service was top-notch too. I'll be back!

We went for the buffet and loved it! It was a cold and snowy day, they let us in half hour before the restaurant opened and the service was impeccable. Great food, ambience and service, 5 stars!

Ok food, although the portions were on the smaller side. The food was served lukewarm and we had to ask for it to be reheated. The atmosphere felt kind of strange given the pop-rock music choices.

I came with family to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. I booked this restaurant based on some of the reviews I’d read but was very disappointed in the quality of the food. It was all very generic covered with unrecognisable sauces. If there was anything positive it was that the staff were polite.
