About Craven Arms

Established in 1875, the Craven Arms is a family friendly free house with real ales, great food and eight letting rooms. It’s situated on the edge of the village of Giggleswick and close to the market town of Settle and is the perfect base to explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Expect British food with a Yorkshire accent – more restaurant-style than pub food. Popular main courses include their Slow-braised Beef Wellington and the Craven Arms Fish Pie and for dessert try the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The Craven Arms is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, except Monday lunchtime, and right through day and evening from 12 noon at weekends.

We visited on a Wednesday evening (early) and the restaurant was already quite busy. The service was very efficient, and the food was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Booked in for an overnight stay. Great pub with a real homely feel.All the staff including the owner were excellent so helpful and friendly.Had Sunday lunch it was excellent as was the wine which was well priced. Room was excellent as was our breakfast the following morning. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return. Well done the Craven Arms team and thank you.

Most of our party of seven really enjoyed our meal. Afterwards, we found out one was disappointed. Sunday evening menu is as for lunch. The beef and lamb were superb. For starters the salt and pepper squid was excellent. The carrot and coriander soup was a meal in itself. Only the falafels were a disappointment for one person as lots of gravy softened them. Service excellent and both beer and wine good.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal on the 9th Sept. Food was excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Service and friendly staff. Would certainly return when in the area.
