Da Gino is a classic upmarket Italian restaurant located in the chic Sutton Coldfield suburb of Streetly. Warm and atmospheric with a real Italian feel, it’s owned and run by the eponymous Gino and he has built up a loyal customer base. Gino prides himself on remembering exactly what you ordered on your last visit and takes time with all customers to suggest dishes that would best suit their tastes. The menu offers classic Italian fare, simple and unfussy, with a southern Italian twist. There’s no pizza but you can choose from a range of pasta dishes as a starter or a main as well as an extensive selection of antipasti, starters, entrees and desserts. Signature dishes include Asparagi Valdostani, fresh asparagus spears wrapped in Parma ham and served with flakes of fine Parmesan and Scaloppine in Salsa al Dolcelatte, escalope of veal in a rich, wine-based cream and blue cheese sauce. The spacious venue is spread over two floors with lots of nooks and crannies and some window seats which are always in demand. There is a spacious and comfortable bar area and also plenty of space for functions and parties to the rear and upstairs.
