Fisherman's Friend
Don't know why the present landlady ever took over the Falcon hotel. She doesn't appear to be interested in the place and many customers have left because they couldn't get served due to the fact that she and her family spend most of their time in the vaults playing pool, darts, dominoes and the games machine more than looking after the customers. There's not been much interest shown in trying to build the place up with, for example quiz nights, regular artists, offers on meals [which have now been stopped during the week], charity nights or offers during screened football matches. There's no longer a selection of coffee, there's no crisps, not many bottled drinks, in fact the stock has just been run down. The place is more often cold than not, with people having to wear their coats whilst drinking or eating. If ever a place has been run down, then this is it!!!!

My girlfriend and I went to the Falcon for their Karaoke evening on Friday night it was a great night very entertaining and what a fantastic atmosphere, The staff and the locals are very friendly and all in all had a fantastic night, I didn't realise all this went on at the Falcon and the new management team have certainly turned this place around.

My family and I had fantastic value for money food at this pub on Halloween Night 2009. I had Rib Eye Steak with chips and generous salad for £6.50. Beat that for value. The Falcon is under new ownership and the place is now spotless. Time for all those regulars driven out by the previous Landlady (Lady??) to return. The 52" large screen plasma certainly also made the viewing of man United beating Blackburn pleasurable. For good value, clean and comfortable surroundings this place is back on the place to be seen list. Well Done Sharon, Lee, Tony and Mark. We will definitely be back.

Excellent food at realistic prices. We've been several times. I recommend the Chicken and ham pie.

The falcon is a lovely place to visit for decent pub grub. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and if you go on a Tuesday evening - stay for the fab quiz night!
