About Finsley Gate Wharf

Housed in Grade II-listed buildings dating back to 1784 on one of the original wharves of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal at Burnley, Finsley Gate Wharf is a café, restaurant and bar. The historic buildings were rescued from dereliction in conjunction with the Canal & River Trust and opened in summer 2021. In summertime, it’s a great spot to relax by the canal with space for up to 180 drinkers and diners whilst in the winter the thick stone walls and fireplace provide a welcome retreat from the elements. There’s also an upstairs function room that seats up to 60 and is ideal for weddings and corporate events. And if you fancy an overnight stay in an historic building there are four ensuite doubles available. Menus for brunch, lunch and dinner offer plenty of choice along with an extensive drinks selection including wines, cocktails and cask and craft ales. There is also a full allergen policy.

We had a lovely lunch at Finsley Gate Wharf on Sunday . Food was excellent . The canal side setting is great. Best of all was the friendly helpful staff .

Booked a table with special request to be able to see the football showing that evening. All arrangements made and staff were really helpful. The food was fantastic and all enjoyed the evening.

Always had a lovely service from here , however after our latest visit I was slightly disappointed, we arrived for our time reserved , only 3 chairs I had booked for 4 people , so after a little search a chair appeared , we ordered food and it came quiet prompt however the sandwich bread was hard the steak was dry , the chips was over cooked on 2 of the meals , the peppercorn sauce was cold , saying this one had a jacket potatoes which was enjoyed and had no problem . I have always enjoyed this venue , must have just been a bad day in the kitchen .

Lovely friendly staff. Food was excellent. Portion sizes are huge we actually struggled to eat it all so staff boxed it up so we could take it home. I have visited many times and have never been dissappinted with the food.

Came for Mother's Day as family of 6 - Beef Sunday lunch was amazing, huge portions and such good value for money. Young bar staff and waiter - all great service. Will be back again soon.
