About The Fox Roby Mill

The Fox is a beautifully rendered pub and restaurant that dates back to the eighteenth century. Located in the pretty country village of Roby Mill, near Upholland, the building has been refreshed yet retains its original features of exposed stone, revealed beams and real fires. There’s also a beer garden which comes into its own during the summer months. The Fox is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week with a menu built around locally sourced produce. Expect hearty pub classics with signature dishes such as Slow-braised lamb shank, Beer-battered fresh cod and chips, Gourmet burger with skinny fries and Pear & stilton salad. There’s a choice of ever-changing daily specials too.

Only came across the Fox a couple of months ago. Been twice now and I have learnt to book a couple weeks ahead. Thought I would make a early booking in October for Xmas day, fully booked. I have now booked my reservation for Xmas 2022 Food is just AMAZING service is Fab, My new go to place.

3 times now we have had the same lady take our order, lovely lady short hair glasses always seems be none stop working but still has time for you. The food is amazing the chilli jam is to die for. when we go we always hope its the same lady serving. lovely clean place 100% recommend. we tell everyone we know to go here steak always 100%. Thank for making it enjoyable for us

Came for a birthday evening meal. As always food good quality, no specials but plenty of choice on the main menu. Delicious warm fresh bread and hummus shared platter to start, would recommend plenty for 2. We all chose different mains very tasty and good quality. Service generally good, friendly, helpful staff, but had to go to the bar to pay as we seemed to get forgotten about at the end. Not a big deal and will look forward to our next visit.

Sadly, not impressed!! Staff had attitude problems !! Booked specifically for a birthday knowing one item on the menu would be liked, was lied to about why it wasn’t available that night, so we paid for our drinks and went elsewhere and had lovely meal with great staff and service
