The meal was delicious but sadly we were conned by false advertising--It is three weeks now since our party of three ate there one lunchtime--I wrote in to complain about the offer and the price but Mr and Mrs Frank didn`t even have the decency to reply to me--I now wish this complaint to definitely reach them through your private grievances! Three of us four weeks ago this Friday were the only ones in there--there was no board outside as there used to be but I saw online they were advertising two course lunches for £6.95--They are still advertising this online todays date,12th May,2008 but due to low numbers they stopped doing this a few months ago--This should not be still advertized!This was our first shock when we first sat down,also there were no light lunches as had been advertised online too!We were only given a very expensive a la carte menu but were told of the special offer(also I have seen this is advertised on line for Tuesday-Friday,it was a Friday we went in!The waiter told us that the offer was "BUY ONE MAIN COURSE GET ONE FREE"--My friend chose just to have a prawn cocktail starter at £6.50,had she known different she would have had a main course.Then the two of us ordered a sirloin and fillet steak--My expensive one £16.50 and the sirloin I believe was £15--We all presumed that the sirloin steak would be free--I still am unable to accept that they said that because three of us had lunch we had to pay full price for the two steaks and it was the prawn cocktail that was free--I asked the waiter to go in the kitchen and querie this with the owner but he came back and said it is the prawn cocktail that will be free,but that wasn`t even a main course--I am disgusted and in all my years of dining out I have never known such a backtrack on an offer verbaly said to us,I think it is disgusting and no reply to my letter which although pointing all this out and disatisfaction,I also truly complimented the cooking because the meal was truly superb--Poor show this though and we will not be returning but I truly feel it should be passed to you to at least please take up with them. If this is Franks at Keynsham, I can thoroughly recommend it. We had a most enjoyable evening. The decor and the food is excellent, it is very friendly and everything was done to make our evening special. They seem to have got everything just right. The only comment that I will make is - please do not use squirty cream !! it really didn't suit the quality of every other aspect of the restaurant. Other than that it was first class. Long may it continue.
