I have been coming to the Gate of India for about 20 years now and I've never been disappointed. the food is fantastic and the staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome. Would recommend to anyone. If you live in the waterloo area and have never been, get yourself down there!

Great hospitality and great food . If you have a good appetite, the meat or vegetarian thalia is a delightful range of food to dip into. A long or just a short walk around crosby marina gardens and beach and then dine at the gateway is a wonderful evening

I was actually there on the very first day this restaurant opened in 1978! So, you could rightly say I am biased. However, having eaten at many Indian restaurants all over the UK (including the fabled Rusholme) and Europe, nothing compares to TGOI. Why? Well, everything. The best service. The best atmosphere. Without doubt the best quality food. There is nothing else I can say. If you haven't been then you have missed out. If you have and you disagree then there is something wrong with you. As my good friend from Dudley said to me upon seeing this fantastic Emporium, "I bet that is a great curry house?". Yes.

we have been the gate so many times we've lost count,we love the :bunko booths!: food is always excellent been to many others but always go back to the gate the chicken pokoras are the best ive ever tasted,it could do with up dating but this does not have any bearing on how gooood the food is . the staff are very welcoming and not pushy! always 10/10...

I've Been to Indian Restaurant's all over the UK from London, Bradford etc... This is by far the best I've ever known and it's right on my door step. Go there abouts 5 nights a week haha. Food is seriously good, reasonably priced would recommend it to anybody who likes Indian Food, must be tried!
