About The Golden Ball Inn

Dating back to 1728, the Golden Ball Inn is the oldest licensed pub in Ironbridge. This atmospheric old coaching inn offers tasty pub grub, cosy AirBnB-style accommodation and a regular roster of lively entertainment. The menu is a mix of pub classics and modern dishes, ranging from hearty pies and Sunday Roasts to fresh vegetarian and vegan options. And if you’re in the mood for a celebration they also do a Bottomless Brunch with unlimited drinks for 2 hours. The three cosy and characterful bedrooms at The Golden Ball are laid out AirBnB-style with a kitchenette and open-plan area and are the perfect base from which to explore Ironbridge and its surroundings. And with the pub approaching its 300th anniversary, it’s still very much at the heart of the community with regular quiz nights and live music events.

We hadn't eaten at the Golden Ball for a while. So we were a little unsure what to expect. We needn't have worried! All 6 meals we ordered were excellent and great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We'll definitely return in future.

Visiting the area and tried The Golden Ball Inn very happy with the meal which was piping hot. We both had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas. All cooked well. Service was good and staff welcoming and pleasant. I would recommend this Inn for good basic pub meals.

Good beers. Nice staff, let down by poor food, which which didn't offer value for money. I have been to the golden ball many times over 45 years but we probably wouldn't eat here again, just come in for drinks and crisps. Sad really because the food used to be really good. I assume it's a sign of the extremely hard times within the hospitality trade.
