Simply gorgeous soup with warm cheese and bacon rolls. What a beautiful day looking out over the countryside from my table!

Had an excellent lunch here today. And I also really enjoyed hearing the passion of the owner has for food and clean, healthy, organic food. Everything is made in-house and I took some of their gorgeous bread away. if you care about what you put in your mouth and where it comes from then eat here. They now have bedrooms too!

Pleasant comfortable surroundings with a welcoming open fire. The 3 course Sunday lunch represents excellent value and good no-nonsense traditional English fair. One of those rare dining experiences where no- one is trying to rip you off. A very pleasant experience.

Excellent, very enjoyable meal and cheap too. However did not enjoy that smoking was allowed inside.

Greendale is set in the heart of the picturesque Ribble Valley nestled between the villages of Chatburn and Downham (AKA Ormston from the BBC series Born and Bread). I found the traditional English menu to be of an exceptionally high standard and although the waitress were young and inexperienced they made up for it in politeness and helpfulness.
