About Happy Lok

Highly Commended in the Welsh Restaurant Awards 2023, Happy Lok is a relaxed and friendly Malaysian/Chinese restaurant in the Cathays district of Cardiff. Head Chef Jacky is a talented Malaysian-born chef with more than 25 years’ experience and signature dishes on the extensive menu include Nasi Lemak, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow and Roti Canai. Happy Lok is fully licensed with Tiger Beer and Tsing Tao available as well as soft drinks, wines and spirits. The restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner (except Wednesdays) and can be booked for private parties.

The food here was really good. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked well. The portions were just right, and the menu had nice options to choose from. It’s an easy place to enjoy a good meal, and I’d definitely come back again

Food is absolutely authentic and the portion is quite sizeable. There were two of us. I ordered a nasi lemak with chicken, my friend ordered 1 bowl of rice , a veg and a tofu pot. It was more than enough for both of us! Lovely food and curbed my cravings!
