About Hartfields

Hartfields is an independent coffee shop and kitchen café that’s long been a fixture of Uckfield High Street, starting life as a greengrocers and deli back in 2011. It’s got a relaxed and friendly vibe and you can drop by for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea as well as browse their range of jams, chutneys, oils and other seasonal treats from local suppliers. There are plenty of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and takeaway options on the extensive menu, as well as a range of alternative milks. The coffee here is their own exclusive ‘Hartfields’ blend from Horsham Coffee Roasters with notes of chocolate, nuts and tangerine.

Wonderful food and service. Can’t fault. Looking forward to the next visit. Iced latte was just what was needed. The halloumi and sweetcorn fritters on the specials were amazing.

Went for brunch at the weekend. Appreciate it was busy, but Was waiting over 10 mins for drinks. Was also waiting for 45 mins for food, when one of the party questioned this, he was greeted by a rather unpleasant waitress, who did nothing to apologise, was dismissive and blunt and when walking away from the table said rude under her breath. There’s a way to speak to customers, and that certainly isn’t it. When the food came, it was mediocre. Toast was burnt and hard to cut into, small portions. Expensive for what it is. No apology made for delay in food and drinks. Won’t be coming back.

Excellent service and very helpful staff. Very boring but I always have the fully loaded omelette (without ham) it is the best I’ve ever had and is always consistent-never been disappointed, cooked to perfection.

Went for lunch on a Wednesday in half term before the cinema. Booked but in fact not ridiculously busy. Had their paninis which were great

Visited on a Sunday morning with 3 other friends for a late breakfast/brunch. Service was brilliant, breakfast - I had poached eggs and smoke salmon on toast was delicious… although also jealous of one of my friends who had the chocolate pancakes! Coffee tastes like coffee. Would thoroughly recommend.

Visited at weekend with my kids. Not be to Hartfield’s for a while. I had the breakfast hash and was seriously disappointed. Mainly potato, over cooked and soggy veg and hardly sausages with it. The kids chicken nuggets and chips over cooked. Bacon over cooked and possibly microwaved. Made a comment to staff and was told it’ll be 45mins. We couldn’t wait. So wasted food. Gone down hill big time. Won’t be coming here again

Excellent service, excellent food and drinks, and excellent atmosphere. Consistently high standards in every area over many years. I cannot recommend enough and can't wait for my next visit to Hartfields!
