We have just been for a wonderful meal at the Hospital Inn. I chose gammon and my husband had rib-eye steak. I can honestly say that both meals were of an exceptionally high quality, piping hot and delicious. Even the garden peas were hot-something I have never ever encountered before whilst dining out over many years! It might sound silly but I expect my food to be hot-all of it (including the peas!) The service was excellent and I would highly recommend dining here as it does not disappoint. Thank you we really enjoyed our meals xx

We decided to go to the Hospital Inn for a birthday treat as the food is always good. We had a lovely meal, as is the norm, and decided to push the boat out and have a pudding seeing as it was a special occasion. What stood out from the menu was the strawberry and crème brulee trifle. How good does that sound? Well believe me, it wasn't. It was nothing more than a knicker bocker glory glass filled with jelly with spray cream on the top. Definitely not my idea of trifle. What really got me though was the attitude of the waitress. She totally blanked me when I said I couldn't eat it. A second waiter noticed our distain when he came to clear plates from the table next to us and after I explained said he would be back. He never returned. To say it spoilt our meal would be putting it lightly. That said, we will return because the dinner was lovely. Will just refrain from ordering desert in future.

i never had a worse meal than the one i had at the hospital inn, the soup was water with slabs of veg in it, then when we sent it back no other option was offered, then 50 minutes later my rare steak came, well done, in the end we left £65 pound down and still hungry.

Always a great meal, Fantastic selection on the special boards, and you never have to wait to long for your food, good wine list. Very cosy interior and friendly staff, I was very happy to find they had opened another restaurant closer to us (The Beaumont in Clayto-le-woods) , the only draw back is the prices are higher for both food and drink at the sister restaurant which i find a little strange as the menu's are identical and the restaurant's are not much more than 1 mile apart!

I'm a regular visitor to the Hospital Inn and I haven't got a bad word to say about the place. The atmosphere is wonderful, very relaxing music in the background, and the staff are so friendly. There is an extensive menu, plus a snack menu and many specials boards in particular one for vegetarians, fish and even a curry menu. The drinks are quite expensive but the food is not so it all evens out. The main dining area is no smoking so it doesn't put you off your food. Service is always quick and with a smile. We dine there with people who come from Darwen just to eat there and enjoy a nice evening. We all go back time and time again as it's such a great place.
