Booked for Mothers Day because of extensive menu only to find they only served carvery on Sundays. I would not have booked if I had known this not a very good carvery at that.

Good steak and half a chicken at £4.99 each. However the chilli con carne was very hot and my daughter could not eat it. At the end of the meal the chilli con carne had not been eaten since it was too hot for her to eat even though she usually eats chilli con carne. Don't expect good customer service either because after mentioning the chilli con carne had not been eaten, the owner geoff did not seem interested and told us he has been the owner for 35 years. All he offered us was a free drink on our return but after his attitude we will not be returning. He refused to offer us a refund on the chilli con carne at £7.95. I tasted the chilli con carne and it wasn't very tasty. No one had checked during the meal to see if we were enjoying it or needed anything else.

Steak, chips, mushrooms and peas for £4.50 !! and its quality well cooked food - great beer to wash it down with - lots of space, friendly staff - 10/10 .

We regularly come here for the Sunday Carvery. It's lovely - the best carvery roast potatoes in Devon so far and I have tried a few! Really friendly staff and my other half likes the cider!

The staff very friendly , hosted by Richard and Jeff , recommend the Sunday carvery a MUST!!! mouth watering meat and tender veg , 9/10 for the hunting lodge , best carvery from Ivybrdge -Plymouth !!
