We had a terrible experience here. We waited 2 hours for our main meal as they had lost our order and forgotten about us. When we complained about the time we waited for our meal they weren't very apologetic and one of the hosts was quite rude. When our meal finally arrived they had gotten the order wrong. Needless to say we won't be going here again.
visited your restaurant last Friday evening with my wife and overall our dining experience was exceptional from our initial greeting, service from alessio and guiseppe was superb, and the food was fantastic !
without doubt the best Italian restaurant in Liverpool and surrounding area , we will certainly be back and will have no hesitation in recommending you to our family and friends.
thankyou once again,
I recently had a Christmas night out here.
THIS IS ONE TO AVOID.
We were a group of 13 but should have been 17 we had all paid a £10 deposit. The restaurant were insistent that we pay in full for the missing 4 people.
We were asked at the start if we wanted garlic bread or any other starters, we all said no, but they brought some anyway, so we all thought they must be complimentary, we got 3 garlic breads, a 3 brushetta's at an extra cost of £30+. They served large drink sizes when not asked for. The cost for drinks was a little excessive at £3.50 for a coke and £5.50 for an orange juice.
The meals themselves were very mediocre, and certainly not worth the £595 they asked for, just for the meals.
The service was also below expectations. I was left waiting for my starter when most of my group had finished there's. All meals had been pre-ordered, and no excuse was forthcoming.
I couldn't recommend this restaurant for anything. Not the food, or the service.
My family and I visited Il Forno yesterday to celebrate my mums birthday. Everything about the experience was perfect. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I have never wrote a review before for anything, but felt i had no choice after eating here!! Went to this restaurant last night with my partner for my birthday as the reviews looked really good. A couple of people said it was expensive but as it was a special night decided to pay that little bit more for food which was supposed to be 'out of this world'. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. The King Prawn starters were very bland, and after ordering Foccacia with just olive oil rosemary and salt we were given a tomato based pizza bread instead.. For our main my partner ordered USDA 40 day matured steak, which cost £23.00 and was once again tasteless, under seasoned and chewy. The chips which came with it tasted like frozen ones too.I ordered chicken in breadcrumb with spaghetti and the chicken was very dry and all we could taste in the spaghetti was lots of basil!!! I couldn't eat it, and left half the chicken and all the spaghetti. To top it all off we were charged over £8 service charge and got stung with a £94 bill, which included just one drink each!!! We will definitely not be going to this restaurant again and can't understand why it is one of the top ten Italians in the UK. Completely spoiled our night as we felt we were ripped off, and not even for nice food. If you want a nice Italian in Liverpool please do not go here, we will be going back to our usual San Carlos!
My family and I went to this fabulous restaurant last week to celebrate my niece's graduation. The food was delicious and the restaurant was relaxing and comfy. Our waiter Simon, was very helpful and made us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend Il Forno to anyone. Can't wait to go back, thanks for an unforgettable evening.
As i am the owner of Christakis greek restaurant,i eat out very often, and i like to give my opinion about my experience.Today i went for lunch with my family at il forno. Its not the first time i have been at this restaurant,i dine at least twice a month!.Today it was even better.Pierro the floor manager recommended sea bass covered in sea salt.Me and my mother in law had it.Brilliant,my son Andreas had his bolognese,Renos lasagna,Haris a nice fillet, and my wife Ravioli.Honestly i give Five stars, not only on the meals, but also at the service,Martin,Simon, and the rest of the waiters they were brilliant!!!.My friend Vincentzo you are doing a Fantastic Job.
was the second time i have been to ll forno, the food and staff are amazing but unfortunately the noise from the large table behind me was unbearable!! i really couldn't enjoy my meal an the fire door which was right next to be kept getting opened for people to go outside and smoke which wasn't nice either. I do recommend to go to this restaurant, however be careful were you are sat
Il Forno is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants if not one of the best ones in Liverpool! I've eaten there on and off over the past few years since it opened and its never disappointed. the restaurant is smartly designed and decorated but not pretentious or intimidating, and it has a fire breathing oven! ok its not actually fire breathing but the oven looks brilliant! the staff are friendly and attentive but don't bother you to much. the most important thing though is the food and drink, simply put its smashing. my friend and i shared a starter of Foccacia with tomato garlic and oregano which was enough for two people to share but not to filling. the Pizzas are fantastic and excellent value for money if they dont fill you up nothing will! and the also serve peroni gran reserve which is a posher version of normal Peroni (not that peroni doesnt taste nice!) which rounds things off perfectly. a starter to share and two pizzas with drinks for us was pretty much £40 for us which i think given the surroundings, service and quality of the food is what i would like to call an epic win ;)
My friends and I were in Liverpool last weekend, we decided to try Il forno and were not disappointed by the whole experience, the menu is very very good we all raved about it the next day.
The next time we venture to Liverpool I will undoubtedly be visiting here again.
