A very disappointing experience. We went into the Unicorn pub in Ripon for a quiet drink but we were made to feel unwelcome by some of the locals and witnessed staff arguing over their hotel duties. The pub itself is very dark and gloomy serving food that is well below the normal Wetherspoons standard. A real let down in a town that is so picturesque.

We visited the Unicorn in Ripon today for our dinner but we will never go there again. We ordered peri peri Half chicken and a 14oz rump steak. I was served an 8oz steak and then I noticed from the receipt they had only ordered the 8oz.The peri-peri chicken was overcooked to the point it was almost inedible. The chicken that was not crunchy was so dry it was hard to swallow.Both dishes were served with only a few overcooked frozen chips so we left still hungry and £20 lighter in the wallet.My daughter refused to eat the small bowl of chips I got her (£2.40) so not a great experience.We are no strangers to wetherspoons and have never felt compelled to leave a review before but there is something wrong with this venue.
