About Jorges Restaurant

Situated in Orford Yard, off Red Lion Street, in the heart of Norwich, Jorge’s is a modern Portuguese restaurant with a cosy, intimate feel and new heated outdoor courtyard. Owner Jorge aims to recreate the special dishes from his Portuguese upbringing and runs the restaurant as a home from home – friends, good wine and great Portuguese cooking! Food is cooked over charcoal in the Berta oven and you will find lots of seafood, sharing dishes and house specialities such as Iberian black pork and Octopus. An exciting new steak menu has just been added bringing you the best meats from around the world ranging from Hereford steaks to Wagyu beef. Jorge’s is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday and at lunchtime there’s a fresh tapas menu including meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian dishes. The new heated courtyard is styled to look like a hidden Portuguese back street with ambient lighting, giving you a slice of Portugal right in the heart of Norwich.

Another fine meal and lovely experience. In the few years we have been going to Jorge's it has just kept getting better and better. The service is never less than excellent. A homely, intimate but lively atmosphere. We took our son and financee for an evening meal. They had recently been on holiday to Porto and reckoned that Jorge's was more authentic than the meals they had in Portugal!

This is our fourth visit to Jorges, and we havn't been disappointed. The food again was superb, the staff excellent we cant fault this place. The owner noticed that one of the dishes we ordered had not been touched, he enquired why and we told him it was not to our taste. No quibble he immediately removed that item from our bill. Perfect we will be back.

On a visit to Norwich, chose a restaurant at random….. really glad we chose Jorges! Intimate little restaurant with fabulous food & excellent service. Wish we lived closer to visit again. Thoroughly recommend!!!!
