About Jorges Restaurant

Situated in Orford Yard, off Red Lion Street, in the heart of Norwich, Jorge’s is a modern Portuguese restaurant with a cosy, intimate feel and new heated outdoor courtyard. Owner Jorge aims to recreate the special dishes from his Portuguese upbringing and runs the restaurant as a home from home – friends, good wine and great Portuguese cooking! Food is cooked over charcoal in the Berta oven and you will find lots of seafood, sharing dishes and house specialities such as Iberian black pork and Octopus. An exciting new steak menu has just been added bringing you the best meats from around the world ranging from Hereford steaks to Wagyu beef. Jorge’s is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday and at lunchtime there’s a fresh tapas menu including meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian dishes. The new heated courtyard is styled to look like a hidden Portuguese back street with ambient lighting, giving you a slice of Portugal right in the heart of Norwich.

Fabulous early evening meal. The very best steaks and the Iberico pork was astounding. All served in a lovely atmosphere with professional attentive staff plus delicious wine. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Amazing little restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and superb food! I took my daughter here for a meal before a show at the theatre. The staff were really welcoming and very attentive. We ordered tiger prawns and wild mushrooms for starter, then a meat platter to share for main, which we had to ask for bread at the end to mop up the delicious juices! Divine!

A great small Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Norwich. Authentic, freshly prepared dishes. Cooked to perfection as requested, well presented and full of flavour. A lovely selection of Portuguese wines all reasonably priced. Staff welcoming and courteous. Advice about the menu choices offered and gratefully received. Thoroughly recommended, we had lunch but will be back for an evening meal soon

I had never been to Jorge's before and was looking forward to it, especially as the meal was too celebrate a birthday. The booking process was really easy and the response was prompt. The serving staff knew who they had booked for the evening and were helpful and friendly throughout. The food and wine were excellent and any explanation requested was provided with a good amount of detail. Well worth another visit for unique and delicious food.

An honest take on Portuguese cuisine that focuses on beautiful ingredients and earthy flavours. Restaurant has a genuine, unforced charm. Staff are quietly warm and incredibly attentive. Must visit.

We had a lovely pre-theatre dinner on Tuesday night. The service is low key but very friendly. It was Tapas and Steak night. The tapas were great- the best octopus I have had in a long time as well as prawns, clams and smoked sausage followed by lberico pork. All beautifully tasty.
