I went with my fiancée last night. They were very busy so we expected to wait a bit but it took 15 minutes to get a menu, another 15 to order and another 20 minutes until the starter arrived. An element of wait is forgivable but almost 50 minutes to get the starter? I had to go to the bar to get a drink. At this stage I was still fairly placid (ands forgiving) I wasn't too fussed. The starter (mussels) were good, and fresh. When we finally got the main, mine was ok but just looked like slop in a bowl. My fiancées looked nice but had the equivalent of 3 tablespoons of pepper in, it wasn't edible. My fiancée spoke to the manager just to let them know we'd not had the best of nights and he completely dismissed her and kept repeating 'what do you want me to do' increasingly aggressively to the point she felt scared. I went to speak to the manager and the waiter (an old guy with a very serious attitude problem) wouldn't listen to my concerns and became increasing aggressive. I asked him kindly to reduce the bill as my fiancée had not touched her food. He went crazy and kept repeating 'you pay you pay'. Alas, I was completely gob smacked. The girl at the bar was just really embarrassed. I paid up, shook my head and got out of there promising to review them on every site online I could find. Here it is. It could have been completely salvaged with an apology, I didn't care about the money. Horrific experience all round. I would suggest avoiding and heading over to Aldos in Cleckheaton if it's Italian you want. Seriously embarrassed.

We have just move to gomersal and Le Dolce vita was recommended by my cousin. We loved it that much that we have told all our family how good it si. So much so that we are going as a party of 12 again this week. Fantastic food, service and ambience

Excellent night had by all, visited several times and loved it everytime. My little boy loves it he gets lots of special attention. Be warned the portion sizes are big, I ask for a smaller one and although they look offended they always oblige (need to make sure I have room for pudding). A must have for pasta lovers.

La Dolce Vita in Birstall is definitely worth dinning at. The service is excellent with very pleasant staff. The atmosphere is homely and the food delicious. Children are also made very welcome . Great for those special occasions or just treat.

La Dolce Vita is excellent for a celebration, romantic evening or just for the hell of it. And luckily i live within walking distance so i can make the most of the legendary Italian hospitality.

We eat here at least once a month from work. The food is the best Italian we've ever tasted. The staff are warm and pleasant, always joking with the customers. If you go and it's your birthday, tell the waiter and he tells everyone in the place! It's so funny. They recognise you if you return which is always a winner. It's very relaxed and unassuming. We love it, try the steaks!!!!!

My family eat at Dolce at least once month. It is a cracking restaurant with a good atmosphere, good service, friendly staff & excellent food. The menu is not overpriced & they accommodate kids with smaller pizzas. Dont forget to sample the desserts.

Dolce Vita in Birstall is possibly the best restaurant Ive been to. The food is beautiful and the staff are great! It is a regular for me and girls as part of a nite out. If you visit and like King Prawns then the starter Gamberoni Marinara is a must! I never order a different starter because this one is just too nice! Excellent value for money with a lovely atmosphere! Got to be tried!
