About La Flambe

Established for nearly four decades now, La Flambe is housed in a delightful Georgian building dating back to 1726 which was built for the grandfather of Joseph Fry, the renowned chocolatier. The Wiltshire village of Sutton Benger is five miles northeast of Chippenham and La Flambe, serving classic French cuisine with Spanish and Italian influences, has built a reputation over the years as a destination venue. It’s open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and for a traditional Sunday lunch. As well as the main a la carte selection, there’s also a good-value two- and three-course Set Menu available at both lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. Menus change quarterly, with the seasons.

Amazing food and service on New Year’s Eve. Lovely menu with a good choice of dishes and no over inflated prices for NYE. Well worth travelling from Devizes to visit this lovely pub/restaurant. Highly recommend.

Lovely dinner for New Year’s Eve . I had the smoked salmon starter , hubby had the Duck Rillette . For main I had the Halibut and prawn and my sidekick the steak with a peppercorn sauce. The food is plentiful and always great . My only slight gripe is we never seem to get sat in the main restaurant and there isn’t much atmosphere or warmth in the alcove bit . We have been visiting for many years and never had a poor meal so would highly recommend !

Louise & I dined on Tuesday evening, December 16th. Louise had turkey and I had slow roasted chilli beef. Both dishes were incredible! We were also brought scalloped potatoes and roast potatoes which were also delicious! I have to admit it was too much food for one sitting. We asked if they would back in take away containers, which they did and we reheated slowly in a convection oven which was almost as good - again! We are now back in Canada and hope to visit again in fall of 2026. Looking forward to returning to la Flambe!

We had the need to speak about the no Christmas dinners available after asking if we needed to pre order. We also spoke about the slow service, forgetting one coffee (the other arrived) and attitude of one waitress. We were regular Christmas customers and have informed we will not return, sorry. No Christmas atmosphere on 20/12/25.
