About La Flambe

Established for nearly four decades now, La Flambe is housed in a delightful Georgian building dating back to 1726 which was built for the grandfather of Joseph Fry, the renowned chocolatier. The Wiltshire village of Sutton Benger is five miles northeast of Chippenham and La Flambe, serving classic French cuisine with Spanish and Italian influences, has built a reputation over the years as a destination venue. It’s open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and for a traditional Sunday lunch. As well as the main a la carte selection, there’s also a good-value two- and three-course Set Menu available at both lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. Menus change quarterly, with the seasons.

I don’t want to let everybody know how wonderful this restaurant is because then we will never be able to get in because it will become even more popular! Three of us went for Sunday lunch which was absolutely divine. The beef was perfectly cooked. The vegetables were all fresh and having two choices of potato was just decadent. Sundays are obviously not as French as other days of the week, but the food is consistently delicious, which ever the day of the week it is. I was telling some friends about it only this morning. I hadn’t been for a year or so for various reasons but La Flambé holds very happy memories and it was so lovely to go back and find that everything is as good as it was the last time we were there.

Myself and my husband enjoyed a birthday meal on 18th March. Great service, great menu. Really generous portion sizes. Great atmosphere (every table was booked on a Wednesday night). Table service was professional with staff friendly and efficient. Very well priced for what you get which is quality food. We will definitely be going back.

This place is a hidden gem. The Service is amazing and the Sunday lunch is well worth it. Just make sure you don't eat breakfast first! Portion sizes are generous! And food is delicious.

6 of us. 2 couples and 2 mums, went here on Saturday evening for a pre Mother’s Day meal, as normal a fantastic meal, drinks and atmosphere, as always the staff were great and very attentive. Can’t wait to come back again soon. Well done to all of you at La Flambe.

We had a fantastic meal last week. The food was excellent as always ( we have been eating here for about 20 years.) we only had two courses as the portions are huge. Everything was very tasty. Had the chicken in tarragon for a main course which was just perfect.
