About La Flambe

Established for nearly four decades now, La Flambe is housed in a delightful Georgian building dating back to 1726 which was built for the grandfather of Joseph Fry, the renowned chocolatier. The Wiltshire village of Sutton Benger is five miles northeast of Chippenham and La Flambe, serving classic French cuisine with Spanish and Italian influences, has built a reputation over the years as a destination venue. It’s open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and for a traditional Sunday lunch. As well as the main a la carte selection, there’s also a good-value two- and three-course Set Menu available at both lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. Menus change quarterly, with the seasons.

Four of us had Sunday lunch this week, as usual this was wonderful. The quality of the meals is spot on, service always great, attention to detail. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a fantastic meal with real thought put into each dish.

My wife and I attended La Flambe on Sunday October 4th to celebrate her birthday. We were welcomed in and seated very quickly by friendly staff members. After ordering our drinks, we both opted for the slow cooked belly of pork. When it arrived it was absolutely delicious, with plenty of potatoes and vegetables. For sweet we opted for Banoffee Pie and Tiramasu, again both were fantastic. The whole experience was very friendly with attentitive but not overbearing staff throughout making it overall a very pleasurable early afternoon.

We visited for our 55th wedding anniversary as we were in the area for out son's wedding. We had a lovely meal and the staff were really welcoming and knowledgeable about what they were serving. Very nice atmospheric building which has been looked after. A bit expensive but would still return when possible.

18 of us were celebrating my 80th birthday and this evening was the best birthday meal that I have ever had. Each meal was presented and tasted exceptional for all 3 courses. The service was just right allowing us sufficient time to have let the courses have time to enjoy and digest. A single table worked perfectly with all being able to converse during the meal. It was a set menu with ample varied options and the price was totally acceptable. All of the comments that I have received after the dinner have been very positive. We will definitely return.

Absolutely love this restaurant. The main restaurant has such a nice ambience. The staff are really friendly and attentive. And the food, is just excellent. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. I had the goats cheese starter and the portion was just huge. Could have used a few more leaves and walnuts, but it was delicious. The lamb is such a great main course. We love the fact you get both dauphinois potatoes as well as sauté potatoes. I finished with the sorbet as sadly the crumble wasn’t available. Amazing meal, great price, wonderful evening. Thank you.
