About La Flambe

Established for nearly four decades now, La Flambe is housed in a delightful Georgian building dating back to 1726 which was built for the grandfather of Joseph Fry, the renowned chocolatier. The Wiltshire village of Sutton Benger is five miles northeast of Chippenham and La Flambe, serving classic French cuisine with Spanish and Italian influences, has built a reputation over the years as a destination venue. It’s open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and for a traditional Sunday lunch. As well as the main a la carte selection, there’s also a good-value two- and three-course Set Menu available at both lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. Menus change quarterly, with the seasons.

Roast beef was succulent, lean and tender. Vegetables tasted like you yearn for but seldom get elsewhere…. Oh and I didn’t mention the wonderfully moorish French toast and the glass of Malbec! It seemed rude not have the deliciously soft sticky toffee pudding! 5 stars all round. One tip re portion control… pass on the dauphinois if you like your roasties!

We booked a table at la flambé for a birthday celebration having never visited before. Our whole experience was fantastic. The service was stop on with attentive very friendly staff and the food was incredible. We all had something different and enjoyed trying a bite of each other’s dishes. Would highly recommend. We will be visiting again soon!

Had an amazing meal here the other day. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. If I was to give some constructive criticism to the chef, it would be to make the stroganoff sauce slightly thicker and add some brandy to add a bit more depth of flavour. I also could not taste much amaretto in the semifreddo I had. Overall though, really enjoyed the food!
