Guy Martin-Laval, founder of La Grillade, one of Yorkshire's best known and longest established restaurants, recently relocated to beautiful Ripon after spending well over 30 years at the original site in Leeds. Laval’s passion for authenticity is reflected in the hand-picked wine list, ensuring there is something to suit every palate and accompanying meal. The cheese board will delight Caseophiles; genuine French cheeses are served with care from a traditional trolley. In fact La Grillade’s cheese board has been described as the finest in the UK.
The décor is traditionally French in style but with a bright, contemporary feel. Bare wooden floors and large windows create a sense of soothing openness and serenity. Pop in for a light lunch of moules and frites or for a more indulgent dinner try the Cote de Boeuf. Laval hangs all of the meat served at the restaurant himself so you can be sure of the best quality. Above all the menu affords fresh, locally sourced produce lovingly prepared in a little corner of Ripon which will always be France.
