Visited recently, completely unimpressed, not going back. Waiting staff were clearly not experienced and seemed quite oblivious to an extent. Food started coming fast, we received our first dish just 10 minutes after ordering... we received our last dish 25 minutes later which was cold. Food was to no quality or taste and was obviously rushed, do not recommend to anybody.

We visited La Rioja for the first time recently and were not disappointed. Excellent food, friendly service, good atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

On impulse we went to Altrincham for a meal last Friday night for the first time and didn't know where was good to eat so decided to go into the busiest restaurant which was La Rioja - what a find! husband hand the sirloin steak which he said was the best he had ever had and I had the chicken which was delicious. There was live entertainment which created a great ambiance. They do set menus but not just before 7 like most restaurants but after 7 as well so not just delicious food - good value too. Will definitely be going back regularly - staff stood out as pleasant and helpful and manager bent over backwards to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.

This was a fabulous evening and the food was excellent, drinks are always nice and the staff were wonderful, it was really busy evening but the staff made time for everybody, the manager was charming too he didn't make us wait outside for the taxi in the cold, it was a great night, and going to take my sister and friends at the end of this month, this could be my new favourite!

We have been to La Rioja 4 times and we have to say it is absolutely excellent. The staff are welcoming and pleasant, they make your evening more calm and relaxed. The food was fantastic and we all loved it, we love the tapas because of the portions and means we don't waste food. The evenings are always great and fun; we recommend La Rioja to everyone.

We have been twice now and both times have been excellent, the food, the service and the house wine was superb. Definitely recommended, either a light lunch or a more substantial meal, couldn't fault any of it.

I've been going to La Rioja for years and I don't think i've ever had a bad meal. Both the tapas and the a la carta dishes are incredible as well as being accompanied by a fantastic wine menu. The atmosphere is always vibrant and the staff always friendly.

After reading recommendations. Myself and 3 girlfriends went last night(26th Jan) hadn't booked but only 1/2 full, waited 1/2 hour-(but chatting) for drinks, decided on order then waited and waited, asked and was told 20mins and received 12 olives!We had been there for 2 hours and not had any food. Complained and was told 2 mins! after 5 mins we walked out, This is the 2nd time this has happened, but there will not be a 3rd!

I had a meal at La Rioja on Friday 14th December and I have to say it was fantastic. The whole evening was great from start to finish. The Tapas was superb, some of the best I have ever had, as was the service. There was live entertainment in the bar area and they were brilliant we requested some songs and they played them ..... Fantastic. I am really looking forward to a return visit in January or February.
