Le Bistro Des Amis sits at the heart of the beautiful market town of Skipton. It’s a characterful venue with a lively French-style bistro at ground level and more of a restaurant feel upstairs. There’s also a mezzanine floor which is great for private dining. You can expect classic French cuisine served alongside modern British dishes based on ingredients sourced locally or direct from the famous French markets. Signature dishes include Traditional French Onion Soup, Moules Marinière and French fries, Traditional Burgundy Beef Bourguignon and Poulet a la Normandy Escalope. And all of the wines are sourced from The Wright Wine Company in Skipton. The staff here are super friendly and efficient and the cosy, laid back feel makes Le Bistro Des Amis the perfect choice whether you just want to pop in for a quick coffee or beer or linger over a full three-course dinner.

This was the highlight of our stay in Skipton. Food was superb, great atmosphere, service and value for money. The filo pastry parcel was excellent and the lobster sauce it was in was to die for. My wife had the Yorkshire Barnsley Lamb Chop, cooked to perfection. We will be back.

My parents and grandparents visiting from Scotland were keen to eat at a nice restaurant and Le Bistro did not disappoint! Everybody loved the meals and were especially impressed with the presentation! Lovely restaurant to sit in and the staff were very friendly. Excellent choice of meals and deserts, and all of us enjoyed the various dishes we ordered.

I had big expectations when I booked a birthday meal for my partner but the night was disastrous. We had an early booking & the first course came fairly quickly. However the simple steak frites took an hour & half after ordering. Although mine was ok my partners came as a ball of chewy meat which was inedible. I said I wasn't paying for it but wasn't offered an alternative. We were warned by another table they'd been overcharged by £40 & checking our bill ours was £17 over!! We can't blame the very young, apologetic staff that evening but where was the manager/owner overseeing the running of the business. Shocking experience. Wanted to give 1/5 for food & service but it won't allow!!

Enjoyed a great evening. Food delicious and catered for my awkward dietary requirements. Friendly relaxed but elegant atmosphere. Service was excellent . Wish we lived closer as would love to go again
