About Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire

Llys Meddyg is a gem of a hotel nestled underneath Carningli (the Mountain of the Angels) at Newport on the Nevern estuary, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The Georgian townhouse offers a unique blend of old and new with elegant furnishings, deep sofas and a welcoming fire. The menu at Llys Meddyg champions foraged ingredients from the shores, hedgerows and their own kitchen garden alongside seasonal fresh ingredients from passionate local producers, cooked in a wood-fired kitchen and designed to celebrate what’s best in season. The Dining Room, at the heart of the building, has intimate tables for couples, family and friends. Or you can enjoy an evening meal or drink in the enclosed Secret Garden where outdoor pods have bench seating and overhead heating. The Cellar Bar is located in the oldest part of the building and dates back to the 15th century when it was a mariners bar.  With its flagstone floor, log burner and inglenook fireplace, it has a unique atmosphere of curiosity, warmth and conviviality. All the bedrooms at Llys Meddyg are large, bright and comfortable with contemporary en suite facilities, double bed and stunning interiors. The hotel is a great base from which to explore the breathtaking beaches, rivers, woods and mountains that are just a stone’s throw away from your door.

Food was lovely and accompanied by a great atmosphere. Second to none service. Will certainly be returning!

We have been coming to LM for about 7 years as it’s a dog friendly establishment with superior food. On this occasion LM was very quiet so we had the choice of Pod or cellar bar. The roaring fire in the bar was a lovely touch. The service and food were exceptional and we had a wonderful meal. The BBQ octopus and crab were real hits. Welsh pork with carrot and pine nuts plus local potatoes made a wonderful main. The coconut cheesecake ( more like a mousse ) was very light and tasty but a little more coconut flavour would not go amiss. Coming to LM every year is top of our places to go - we LOVE it.

I thought the atmosphere and service were very good . The food was exceptional which made the experience even better. The waiting staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. My partner and I will be back definitely. The challenge is to maintain these standards even when very busy but I am sure the team will.

We all had a fantastic experience in The Secret Garden. The food was delicious, service superb and the garden itself a delight. To be able to dine out at this level, with our dogs was just brilliant. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner - the ox cheek starter was superb. One of us had haddock and the other steak - both cooked to perfection and a side dish of 'heritage' carrots. Delicious. It is vale for money as the quality of the cooking and service and both above the 'norm'. We would only comment that the restaurant can be noisy - but this evening it was fine.

We stayed at Llys Meddyg for a weekend whilst exploring the local areas. The Welsh breakfasts and Sunday evening meal were beautifully presented and of the highest quality. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed exploring the secret garden area at the rear of the property too.
