New York gothic style on the banks of the Mersey at Liverpool's Malmaison Brasserie.

About Malmaison Brasserie

Mal Liverpool is completely unique the epitome of modern chic. It follows a New York gothic-inspired theme, is built on an immense scale and has a whole extra dimension through being situated right by the Mersey. Tasty, beautifully presented cuisine is prepared by head chef Duncan Anderson and his team using local ingredients and served up with real passion, whether it's business lunches, quick light healthy bites or dinner. Malmaison Liverpool also has two private dining rooms seating up to 10 people. Leaving behind the Manhattan style for a moment, The Boudoir reminds you where Malmaison came from. Sat in a sumptuous chair, with an unhindered view of the Liver Building clock, the surroundings are so bourgeois and decadent you might be forgiven for thinking you were on the banks of the Seine. Malmaison Brasserie is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Sunday to Friday and breakfast & dinner on Saturday.

Malmaison dishes up fine dining excellently disguised as your old favourites. The service staff are also very customer friendly, which is a nice change. For quality, value and location. very hard to go past.

Our party of four had a "3 tenners" lunch a couple of weeks ago. Food was average, service was slow, they charged for sauces without telling us when they offered them and added a service charge, which wasn't mentioned either. Had better, sorry. Shame you don't publish negative comments since only publishing positives gives a skewed view of the establishment, suggest you reconsider your policy if you want to provide a balanced service to visitors to your site.

Went for my wife's birthday. Was disappointed with the standard of dress, in there, people wearing tracksuits, lots of swearing. Was not what I expected and was a total let down, food was also very average for the price. Would not go back

I love Malmaison chain, the decor, the opulence the feeling of all embracing intimacy- so i was looking forward to eating in the Brasserie in the new Liverpool Malamison. I was sadly, slightly disappointed. Booking was fine and was accommodated for 7.45pm. We had a drink in the bar first, who passed the bill on to the restaurant so we could carry our drinks through to the brasserie. Seating was a little low at the table, but comfortable. My dining partner was seated in a corner next to a brick wall which left her a little limited for people watching! Starters were very nice, risotto and crispy duck pancakes. Mains of steak frites and swordfish were chosen. I had the swordfish with Mediterranean veg- the fish was over cooked slightly and the veg- sparse at best. I was told the steak was fine. Dessert was apple, pear and bramble crumble which was delicious. Choice from the menu would cover most tastes but was a little unadventurous, perhaps a bit more variety would be better. Service initially was good but as the brasserie got busier, tailed off a little, waiting 30 mins after being given dessert menu to receiving dessert was frustrating. The bill was wrong when it eventually arrived, overcharged by £35, and included a discretionary 10% service charge. After the bill was corrected we were further delayed in attempting to pay for it. These last few point although not major did add a rather bitter note to what had been a perfectly pleasant dining experience. Surroundings 7/10 Menu choice 6/10 Food 6.5/10 Service 5/10 Price 5/10 I'd go again, but would advise an earlier dining time when the staff may be able to cope with the number of people in the place.

Have eaten here several times once in the private dining area. The food is excellent as is the service. Will go back again

Have eaten at Malmaison a number of times either with a party of friends or as an two-some and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. They really do the best fish and chips !. One of the few places were the head chef is seen talking to the patrons. and taking an interest. A great night out.

This is one for special occasions, really amazing interior. Food on the expensive side, though a member of our party said that the fish and chips were "the best he'd ever had" not bad going from a man who lives in a seaside town!
The Missus
Lovely setting. But very expensive.
