Situated right on The Hoe, the restaurant extends over two floors plus an outside terrace and the views are outstanding. Maritimo is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner with menus centred around traditionally prepared tapas dishes. Wine delicious. View amazing. Some food disappointing. Charcuterie seemed like was bought in packet from supermarket. Beautiful aubergine special but very small portion. Goats cheese tapa yummy. Flat bread also tasted bought in. Go for view and wine. Perhaps food is better in evening?

Visited early on a Friday evening with a friend. Beautiful views, nice and airy with space between the tables so you’re not sat on top of other people! Food absolutely delicious, really impressed and authentic, service was perfect with attentive staff and not waiting as long time to be served or for food. You won’t be disappointed

We visited after seeing the online menu and we were not disappointed. A lot of places offer tapas but not many are authentic but these were and comparable to what we get when we stay with friends in Valencia! We had a nice selection - mainly from the good variety of vegan options, battered courgette, baked aubergine, bravas and salad - my mum also had the chicken. The portions were an appropriate size for tapas and the salsa, mojo verde and aioli were also really nice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my favourite (usually very hard to come by vegan affogato) was on the menu and mum had churros. All the food was delicious and there were other choices that we were considering but didn't want to overdo it! We had a jug of sangria to share and had a lovely meal. The view was good also despite the weather! Our server was attentive but not to imposing and very polite. Will definitely return!

Second time we have been here to eat both times its been fabulous We had a selection of 10 dishes between two of us ,which was a little bit to much but we really wanted to try everything on the menu. We loved every dish and were completely stuffed I do agree about the steps down being rather off putting and my husband wasn't impressed with the toilet but we will still return when.we return to Plymouth. Last time we went it was lunchtime and the views are fantastic.

We were a group of four adults and our table was inside, on the lower level. Our waiter was Benny and he was perfect. Our food arrived piping hot, even though it had to be carried down three flights of steps. I have sympathy for the staff as this is quite a job! My sea bass fillets were delicious and so we're my chips. I was glad to find several items on the menu that weren't too spicy. My friend had the chorizo that was fiery hot with chilli. He likes fiery food but that was a level above what he expected so perhaps a bit too much. But we did enjoy our meal. The only thing I could criticise was how cold our dining room was as there was no heat and it was 11 degrees celcius draft blowing downstairs into the room. It was much warmer in the upper dining room.

My Girlfriend and I attended on Valentine’s Day 2026 for our second valentines meal here in 3 years, amazing views (until it was dark and we then couldn’t see anything) food was amazing, in fact we ordered too much food so took lots home with us for the evening, we will definitely be back soon.
