York Chinese restaurant built in elaborate oriental style at a cost of £1.4 million.
Maxis opened in York in 1999, 10 years after the original Maxis in Leeds. It's modelled on the Leeds restaurant's elaborate oriental styling and cost £1.4 million to build. Maxis serves Cantonese and Peking cuisine prepared by experienced chefs from Hong Kong and China. Choose from a la carte, set menus, banquets and dim sum with plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Entertainment makes for a vibrant atmosphere here on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. There is also a sister flagship restaurant in Leeds
OMG fantastic food, would definitely recommend it. a real treat at a great price :)

Very good chinese restaurant serving generous portions of good authentic chinese food and dim sum. Whenever I have visitors we never fail to frequent Maxis. Pity the Leeds branch is no where near as good!
My husband and I have been going to Maxis in York since it opened and prior to that, since 1990 in Leeds. We go at least once a month and have never had a bad meal. In fact, the food is consistently excellent. Truly delicious cantonese cuisine, with a separate cantonese menu for experts. The service is very good, the food coming quite quickly after being ordered. A must for those who love chinese and cantonese food.
