About Mere Court Restaurant

Nestled in Mere, near Knutsford, in the heart of Cheshire, Mere Court Hotel was originally built in 1903 as a wedding gift for William and Amy Dunkerley. Today, it has been lovingly restored into a luxury country house hotel, set within beautiful landscaped grounds. At the heart of the original house lies the charming Lakeside Restaurant, offering a truly special dining experience. From intimate dinners and business meals to family celebrations, the menu showcases the very best of seasonal ingredients, complemented by an extensive selection of fine wines from around the world. My wife and I came for afternoon tea. It was very traditional, very well presented with attentive staff. Lovely sandwiches, scones and cakes including the gluten free option, we really enjoyed.

My husband and I have been coming to Mere Court for lunch and celebrations for over 15 years. I think that says a lot. They are a friendly bunch and very welcoming. The meal was lovely especially the roast beef. There are special prices for a 2 or 3 course meal which should be stated on the menu. I do wish they would put the heating on instead of oil heaters scattered around the bar and restaurant. Will certainly be back.

Visited Mere Court Hotel last week for afternoon tea.It was fantastic value for money as well as being delicious.The scones were some of the best I’ve tasted for a long time The newly refurbished restaurant was very pleasant creating just the right atmosphere. All the members of staff from the moment you walked through the door were very welcoming and friendly. We received exceptional service from the lady who looked after us in the restaurant.We shall definitely return. A lovely setting.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at The Mere Court Hotel. Every item was super fresh and tasted delicious. The service was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and we will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommended.
