About Meze Grill

Meze Grill, situated in the heart of Plymouth’s Barbican, is a family run restaurant and bar specialising in authentic and delicious Greek food. It can comfortably seat up to 70 diners and there’s a real sense of occasion here with traditional tiled flooring, wood panelling and vibrant colours. Their Bar Uzo is the place to go for a pre-dinner cocktail or a glass of fizz or maybe a post-prandial Ouzo or Metaxa. In the restaurant the main a la carte menu features Greek classics alongside steaks and grills plus some vegetarian choices. Meze Grill is also a great choice for a party or celebration, however large or small.

Mother’s Day meal for 4. The food was delicious, however the customer service was dreadful, from a poor reception on arrival to the moment of leaving. We had to ask to order drinks, after 15 minutes of waiting, 20 minutes longer to be served our drinks, starter was delicious, main meal served 2 at a time with a significant delay between them and no cutlery, we had to ask for cutlery. Sadly there were tables either side of us who were having similar issues.

The place is lovely and food is great, the people are polite! HOWEVER, we ordered a Meze for 2. The menu had no mention of pre order, or not able to order at weekend. It DID say not all item may be available. We were told chef did not do Meze on Saturday evening as it took a long time. We were upset as I booked 3 months in advance for a 50th birthday. 10 minutes after we ordered an alternative dinner, a couple sat next to us, we did not hear them order BUT, when their food came out it WAS clearly the Meze. We then asked them if they pre ordered and they said definitely no, they just ordered normally. We spoke to staff who basically (in a polite way) said tough! When you ordered the chef said no, 10 minutes later he said yes!!! There was no real apology, no offer of drinks for free or a free dessert to say sorry. Its such a shame to leave bad comments when the food is so tasty, but we really felt picked on, and the two people who DID get the Meze, kept apologising, and said they thought we were treated dreadfully.....

My family came in on Sunday, there were 7 of us and we had a mixture of roast dinners and regular menu. The food and service was fantastic. We will definitely be returning.
