About The Mote

The Mote is a seafood-led restaurant and bar on Fore Street in Port Isaac with a strong focus on the freshest local ingredients. The majority of their fish comes from George Cleave Fish Merchant in Port Isaac, meat from Button Meats of Bodmin, bread from the Chough Bakery in Padstow harbour, vegetables from West Country Fine Foods and local cheeses are supplied by Hanson’s Fine Foods. Service is geared for up both daytime and evenings: lunch runs on a first-come, first-served basis while evening tables are bookable in advance making it a great choice whether you’re dropping in mid-day or planning ahead for dinner.

What an absolute gem ... we're fortunate to have a second home nearby and this is our go to restaurant because it never disappoints. The beetroot soup was delicious and the spaghetti alle vongole and fish pie were both so fresh and packed with flavour.

2 years after my first experience of dining at the Mote I returned on Friday evening full of expectation. I am pleased to share I was not disappointed. A warm welcome; a delightful ambience and attentive service were all a prelude to some very well cooked and presented food. If in the area a must try.

Celebrated my birthday at the Mote. Above the table was decorated with a Happy Birthday banner, which was a lovely touch.We both had the special of seafood and roasted vegetables which was excellent. The Hugo spritz were also great as was the service. Really enjoyed the evening.

The meal yesterday evening was absolutely superb. Scollops starters, Brill main. Picpul wine complimented the food. The upstairs area of the restaurant is delightful. The staff were very helpful. Easy to reserve a table earlier. I've eaten her before but this was the best. Perhaps a tad expensive, but this sort of meal was going to be.

We had visited previously and the food again didn’t disappoint- there is clearly a talented chef here - thought it was slightly more expensive than expected but still worth it for the quality - the staff were also very friendly and helpful

We came here for a meal on Saturday evening for the first time. It was absolutely delicious. Out of this world. The quality of the food, the service and the drinks were sensational. The waiter that served us was really lovely and genuine. The atmosphere was very chilled and relaxing. Just what we wanted. Thank you so much. We will be back.

As always, a great experience. The food is excellent (particularly the specials), and the service friendly and knowledgeable (if a little slow because of a busy service). The fish is always good!
