About The Mote

The Mote is a seafood-led restaurant and bar on Fore Street in Port Isaac with a strong focus on the freshest local ingredients. The majority of their fish comes from George Cleave Fish Merchant in Port Isaac, meat from Button Meats of Bodmin, bread from the Chough Bakery in Padstow harbour, vegetables from West Country Fine Foods and local cheeses are supplied by Hanson’s Fine Foods. Service is geared for up both daytime and evenings: lunch runs on a first-come, first-served basis while evening tables are bookable in advance making it a great choice whether you’re dropping in mid-day or planning ahead for dinner.

Our whole experience at The Mote was incredible. The food was beautiful (skate wing and mullet off the specials, desserts and incredible bread sharer to start!). During our stay at Port Isaac we only ate once but came in most days for drinks. The staff were always friendly and attentive and made our stay so memorable with their friendly smiles every time. We can't wait to come back and Tey some more scrumpy meals!

Every time we stay in Port Isaac we always visit The Moat for dinner on our last night of holiday. And it has never disappointed in all these years. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is wonderful with always a good choice on the menu. It's a warm, cosy atmosphere which makes it a perfect restaurant to look back on our week in Port Isaac and start planning for the next trip back.I would always always recommend The Moat.

Relaxed atmosphere great service and great seafood - exactly what you want ! We were warmly welcomed and attentively served . Scallops , and the sea food linguine both delicious … coming out into the evening sun on the harbour front was magic …

Fabulous food!! Absolutely loved this place. Service was just lovely, we were made to feel very welcome and so was our dog. The food and wine really are superb. I would highly recommend Mote, particularly if you like fresh seafood prepared with love.

Food was ok but the seafood linguine was served as a very small portion which was not worth the £28 cost. We did advise the waiting staff at the time.
