Over rated.I first went to Mumtaz 10 year ago and was very impressed.now they seem to be just throwing out food for fun without any taste,and they have put up prices.

Fabulous food and the best thing is that they do NOT serve alcohol and therefore when eating there there is no doubt in your mind that the food is halaal . Food is outstandingly good . Really enjoyed our meal and the great thing is that they have facilities to say prayers . Please open one in Leicester. I have no doubt you will do well as there is a large muslim community in Leicester .

the food was outstanding, and what was even better was all the different own label items they have for sale in their food emporium. they even do Halal babay food WOW. The decor and atmosphere is brilliant, I would recommend to anyone, this is a very classy place but also very warm and welcoming.

Ate there for the first time 18/02/06.
It is a very busy restaurant and booking is essential at the weekend, unless you wish to queue. The food is outstanding, far removed from your regular korma/madras/vindaloo curry houses. Not licensed for alcoholic drinks but they serve fruit drinks that are out of this world. Excellent service and good value for money. A fantastic place. If you love Asian cuisine this is a place not to be missed.
Mumtaz Paan House
Mumtaz is the best. The food is absolutely wonderful - the best you'll ever get. The atmosphere is great with the place busy from 11am onwards: families, couples, business people. Food is wonderfully fresh and served very speedily. Not licensed but do some fantastic imaginative fruit juice drinks and lassi. Slightly pricier than the average curry house but that? indicative of the difference in class.
