Of the many hostelries we visit this continues to be our favourite. I believe that this is mainly due to the high quality, home-cooked style of the food - and there is a good variety to choose from. But also worthy of mention is the friendliness of not only the staff but of the clientele. Spotlessly clean and a lovely old-world atmosphere completely free of the plastic-style that scar so many pubs these days.

The food was actually home-made, a rarity these days. Chips are cooked fresh and yes they use real potatoes. A good variety of desserts also on offer. I really did enjoy the atmosphere was brill, both Dave & pearl offer a very warm welcome. I would recommend you to try their home-made food and bet you would go back for more!!!!!!!

I write to tell you of my experience when I had the occasion to visit the Nicholls Arms. The menu had an excellent choice, plenty of variety and guess what? they had real chips made from real potatoes. The dessert menu had several choices and all very tempting. The pub itself is really clean and tidy has great character and atmosphere. I now look forward to my next visit, I have booked to try the Sunday Lunch Menu, unfortunately they are often fully booked but I managed to get a table for next Sunday.

this is a great local village pub. the food is all home-made and the menu has plenty of variety, not your usual pub grub. check out the specials on the wall! very generous servings. advance booking for Sundays are ESSENTIAL. i keep returning here as you are sure to have very good food, great deserts and all at a reasonable price.
